Frequently Asked Questions

How do I schedule an appointment?

What can I expect during a counseling session?

During a counseling session, you can expect a safe, confidential space to explore your thoughts and feelings with a trained and licensed counselor. We begin by creating an environment where you can feel comfortable, supported, and open to sharing what is on your mind and heart.

During the first few sessions, we will complete an intake assessment, also known as a Cognitive Diagnostic Assessment (CDA). This process explores your life story as you remember it—including your upbringing, family history, adolescent experiences, and biopsychosocial background. In many ways, it is the beginning of a new chapter: an opportunity to better understand where you have been and where you would like to go.

Together, we will develop a treatment plan based on your individual needs and goals. Your plan will include realistic, measurable objectives that can be worked toward over time. We will check in approximately every 90 days to review your progress, identify what is working, and adjust the plan as needed to better support you.

Then, we begin the journey together. Counseling is a process, and at times it can feel long or difficult. However, it is worth it. If you want change and are willing to try something new—even when it feels a little scary—you can do this. I know, because I have been there, too.

As a counselor, I understand that deciding to begin counseling can feel like one of the hardest steps in caring for your mental and emotional health. But once you make the call, schedule the appointment, and walk through our doors, you will be met with warmth and understanding. We may be a small office, but we are full of love, compassion, and support.

Do you offer virtual therapy sessions?

Yes, we offer virtual therapy sessions for clients who prefer to receive counseling from the comfort of their own home.

We also provide in-home counseling services for individuals or loved ones who are unable to come to the office. We will come to you.

In addition, we offer crisis support through 988, the Idaho Mental Health Crisis Hotline, along with flexible scheduling to meet your needs with the support of our organization.
